Flashback Callibaetis

Created by Tim Tollett

HOOK: 3761, sizes 12-18

THREAD: Tan

TAIL: Olive partridge hackle fibers

RIB: Copper wire

BODY: Tan Haretron

WINGCASE: Flat silver tinsel

Uses

Represents a Callibaetis mayfly nymph that is about to hatch. Many nymphs develop a shiny back when they are about to hatch, which is why the wingcase is a strip of silver tinsel.

How to Fish

Use an intermeditate line and a slow retrieve near the surface. Pay particular attention to shallow areas near weed beds. This fly is especially useful before, during, and immediately after a Callibaetis hatch.
