THREAD: Olive or brown

RIBBING: 4X monofilament

SHELLBACK: Clear Body Stretch

BODY: Bright green Haretron or sparkle dubbing

LEGS: Starling

HEAD: Reddish brown Haretron or sparkle dubbing

Uses

Imitates a drifting green caddis larva (green rockworm; genus Rhyacophila). For more on this pattern, see Caddis Larvae--Part II.

How to Fish

Use tight line or trout indicator nymphing tactics

Tying Instructions

1. Debarb hook, place in vise, start thread

2. Tie in shellback and mono ribbing.

3. Dub body; keep the body thin

4. Pull shellback over top, rib with monofilament.

5. Tie in starling. Make one wrap and trim top and bottom fibers.

6. Dub head.

7. Whip finish and trim.
