About Westfly

Westfly is a non-profit website that serves Western fly anglers. Westfly covers Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and western Montana. It provides current fishing conditions, fly patterns, feature articles, entomology and other fish food details, hatch charts for many western rivers, and other information. Westfly was created by Scott Richmond, who continues to edit the website and serves as Westfly's Executive Director

Westfly, Inc. is a non-profit corporation registered in Oregon. It is an approved 501(c)(3) corporation under the IRS tax code.

Purpose

The purpose of Westfly, Inc., is to advance the quality of Western fly fishing. This mission is accomplished by financially supporting projects and groups that will improve fly fishing in the West, and by informing and educating fly fishers through the website.

Feedback

Westfly is always interested in feedback from users. If there are articles or website features you find especially useful, we'd like to know about it. But we also appreciate hearing about problems on the website, information you believe is incorrect, improvements you'd like to see, feature articles you recommend, etc. To send your comments, click the "contact us" link at the bottom of each page.

Advertising

Advertising is an essential part of Westfly. It informs products and services, and the income is used to keep the website on the air and to fund projects that benefit westfly fly anglers, such as habitat improvement, public access, and important research. Navigation

It's easy to find your way around Westfly after you understand a few basic rules:

  1. The first navigation strip (near the top of the page) has links to pages of interest to all fly anglers, such as fly patterns and entomology. This strip is visible on all pages.
  2. The second navigation line lists the states covered by Westfly, plus an "everything else" catch-all. Click on a state to reach the home page for that state. Once you are within a state, you'll see links to additional pages for that state (see below).
  3. The third navigation strip is visible only when you're on a state-specific page. It has links to pages for that state, such as fishing reports, hatches, and river levels.
  4. All links are in dark bold-face, like this. If it's in bold-face, you can click on it.
