Uses

Imitates adult Isoperla stoneflies (little yellow stoneflies). Little yellow stoneflies can be important on larger streams during the more publicized glamour hatches, so make sure you pack a half-dozen or so everywhere you fish during early and mid-summer.

How to Fish

Use standard dry fly presentations.

Do NOT dress the fly with floatant! When the fly no longer floats well, put it in a small container of powdered descicant and shake it up. This removes the moisture, and you're ready to cast again.

Tying Instructions

This pattern is not difficult or tedious to tie, and you can fill your box in a short time.

1. Tie on thread.

2. Dub on thin golden-yellow body.

3. Tie on Krystal Splash underwing. Trim to 20% longer than the body.

4. Tie on wing material. Trim to same length as underwing

5. Tie on CDC overwing; it should be about 20% SHORTER than the body.

6. Split CDC butts for legs and make Figure 8 wraps of golden-yellow dubbing to lock them in place.

7. Whip finish and cement head.

8. Trim CDC butts to "leg length"(30% of body length
