HOOK: TMC 5262, sizes 6-12

THREAD: Tan

TAIL: Pheasant tippets

BODY: Tan or brown dubbing (Antron, rabbit, Superfine, etc.)

WING: White calftail underwing with tan deer hair overwing. Add a few strands of pearl Krystal Flash

HEAD: Spun deer hair

LEGS: Rubber strips tied X-style

Uses

Although it's used as a general attractor pattern, this fly could represent a grasshopper and is often used during hopper season. The fly is very popular on Rocky Mountain streams.

How to Fish

Dress with floatant and use standard dry fly presentations in rough or riffly water.
