HOOK: TMC 100, sizes 18-20

THREAD: Olive

TRAILING SHUCK: Brown Z-lon. Extends up the abdomen to the thorax.

RIB: Fine copper wire

BODY: Pheasant tail

WINGCASE: Gray deer hair

THORAX: Olive Superfine

Uses

Imitates an emerging blue-winged olive mayfly. Use it during a hatch when the trout are taking duns and/or emergers near the surface.

Variations

A pale morning dun version can be tied in a similar manner with pale yellow thread and a pale yellow thorax.

How to Fish

Use a shallow nymph presentation.
