SHUCK: Red Micro Chenille

ABDOMEN: Gray Superfine mixed with red highlights

WINGCASE: White Z-lon; leave ends out in front

THORAX: Black Superfine

Uses

Imitates a midge hatching out of the pupal case.

Variations

Thread, shuck, and abdomen are the same color. Choose a color that matches the natural insects. Useful variations are: brown, dark olive, tan, red, and black.

How to Fish

Use a floating line and the static midge presentation in lakes, or the shallow nymph presentation in rivers. Do not dress the shuck section of the fly with floatant.
