Uses

Imitates a caddis larva, especially a free-living caddis such as the green rock worm or spotted caddis. This is a particularly usefly pattern on small streams where the trout are not overly fussy. Always use the beadhead so the fly will be presented near the bottom.

Variations

Collect a few larvae from the area you are fishing and try to match the body color of the natural insects.

How to Fish

Dead drift the fly near the bottom with an indicator or tight line presentation.
